Today was the last scheduled meet of the year for the Western Reserve chapter. I’ll start the recap of the meet the way Gary did. Peggy and I got in the car and it was a bit cold and dark… Oh wait a minute that’s how Gary started it !!!
I got in the car this morning, and it was cold and dark. By the time I got to Atwood, a good many were already there and Boats were in the water! And I get there on time at 9 o’clock. It just goes to show how dedicated our members are. Bill Reed was the host today. And he did a marvelous job. He even had a table set up for the donuts.
I don’t have the memory that Gary does, but there were about a half a dozen boats in the water today. All Johnsons and Evinrudes. They all started and ran great.
12 o’clock came and Bill Reed had hamburgers and hotdog and chips and all the good condiments to go with it. Cindy Hagerman made her delicious brownies and I think they were almost all gone by the end of the meet.
Right before lunch was served, John Hagerman made the announcement to the group that Dave Nau will take my place as chapter treasurer and I will take Gary’s position as president. I will definitely be looking for Gary‘s advice and help as a new president. Gary has been president of the chapter for 14 years and it’s time for vacation. A special thanks to Peg for being at Gary side, helping and assisting. Much appreciated Peg.
And always remember, something about the blue smoke flowing!
