Bob Joynt – President

 

 

 

      Hi, my name is Bob Joynt. I have been a member of the Western Reserve Chapter of the AOMCI since the early 2000’s. I was made aware of the Club through my good friend Jim Poole. Jim was a gentleman who repaired all makes of outboard motors in his home shop in Newbury, Ohio. In about 2000, I brought a motor to Jim because I could not find anyone willing to work on an old motor.

 

       It was a 1957 Evinrude Sportwin 10, and not only did Jim get it running, but he also helped me develop a love for outboard motors. When Jim mentioned the Club to me, I told him I was not a member-type person, but he persisted, and eventually convinced me to join.

 

       For the past 14 years, I have been the Treasurer of the Chapter. When Gary Orloff, the past President, decided to step down after 14 years, I volunteered for the position. I hope to do at least half as good a job as Gary did, and help the WRC continue to be an outstanding chapter.

 

        If you are looking to join a group of very nice and friendly folks, then this is the club to join. We meet periodically during the year, primarily in the spring, summer and fall. We go out on local lakes and rivers and run our motors.

 

        In order to become a local chapter member, you must first join the national AOMCI organization. I hope you will consider joining the AOMCI and the Western Reserve Chapter; for assistance please reach out to me or to our Treasurer Dave Nau.
