WRC guys & gals,
And another great meet at the Brooklyn Exchange club! We arrived about 9:30 only to see almost everyone was there and the deals were being made faster than butter melts on a hot summer day ! But this was not one of those days. The forecast was for 100% rainy day and the drive there was a mix of rain mist and fog but at least it didn’t really rain that hard.
Ahhh but that does not discourage our members, the truck beds were open and the treasures were laid out for all to view. First bunch I happened upon were Bill Reed’s Mercury motors and parts. Next to Bill was Dave Mettles pile of motors and parts. Scott Wimbush had promised a couple things to different members which he did bring. Scott also brought his newly purchased custom sport lower unit for one of the big McCulloch 75hp engines , and I just happened to have a couple props that fit it.
Moving on I sat and talked to Randy Wilcox catching up on what his latest project was and checking out his supply of SS steering linkage bars. He has a verity of sizes and shapes at a very fair price.
I had promised one of my favorite motors a Chris Craft Commander to Dan Curran and Ryan Hollingsworth was kind enough to bring it to the meet for me. There were so many more cars and trucks with loads of parts and engines I couldn’t list them all, but there was something for everyone.
Our treasurer Bob Joynt informed me we just signed up 23 to our chapter, 16 renewed and 2 new members signed up.
Another treat to the eyes was Gil Seivers 15 YellowJacket with a 60hp Flying Scott McCulloch on the transom, a really sharp little runabout that should as the name infers, Fly. Recently Gil has become appreciative of the McCulloch line of engines competitive to the Mercury towers of power. He along with Scott Wimbush and myself have several McCulloch 60 & 75 engines.
It was great to see all the familiar faces today and catch up on what everyone is doing. There were so many other swaps trades and sales there was no way to keep up with them.
As always TJ, Jim Fordosi and Chip Rabbit did a great job setting up the club and providing us (as usual) a great lunch. And a huge thanks to Cindi Hagerman and my wife Peg for helping and serving us. So a big thanks to everyone that showed up today despite the weather forecast of rain. I will be sending out when our next meets will be as soon as we get them scheduled. Hope to see everyone soon !
Gary & Peg
