WRC Guys & Gals,
Well we have another one under our belt ! As many of you know this past weekend we attended another Piston Power AutoRama, putting up a display booth to represent our wish club chapter and the National club !
First off I would like to recognize and thank those that participated in making that display one of the best we have had in the past 12 plus years we’ve attended this show !
Credits go to, Bob Joynt, Paul Wood, John Hagerman, Doug Bics, Bill Mohat, Dave Weidner, Greg Schnelzer, Chuck & Howie Thomas and Mark & Jackie Smith ! Also to my wife Peggy and our grandson Logan and his friend Jack who helped in the teardown of our display !
This is the first year Mark and his wife Jacquie have participated in the display bringing some of his beautifully restored engines. Chuck & Howie’s engines and race boats are also an attraction that are a real eye stopper ! Paul Woods little FeatherCraft Penguin also got a lot of attention, Paul adding a fishing rod, hanging his little Opus cartoon character from it really drew the kids attention !
But one of the biggest attention getters, that brought more puzzled looks and questions was Bill Mohat’s little “Clark Troller” ! Many show goers would stand and look at it not knowing it was an actual outboard ! Once we explained what and how it worked It all came clear !
So all in all it was another great show. Another big thanks to all our participants that helped tearing the display when the show was over !
John Hagerman, our chapter photographer will be posting pictures of the show to our web site (wrcoutboards.org) so check them out when you get a chance !
Our next meet is the Hinckley meet on April 26th at the Brooklyn Exchange club, 2400 State Road off of Rt 303 starting at 9:00am. This is a great meet to buy sell and trade at and It’s open to the public so you never know what might come in the parking area.
There will be coffee and sweets in the morning followed by a great lunch around noon, so remember to be generous when you pass by the TIP JAR while in line for lunch !!!
Our next meet following the Hinckley meet will be on May 17th out on the Cuyahoga River at the Iron Horse Restaurant on Rt. 422 (13468 Main Market Rd rt 422, Troy Township, OH 44021). The river is a great place to test out that project you’ve been working on all winter, so bring your boat and motors and we’ll have some fun killing all the mosquitos in the area !
Thanks and remember to put these events on your Calendar !
Gary
